Preserve a trip through travel treasures

Most of us come home from our travel experiences with me movies through photographs or video. Yes, we can look back with nostalgia to relive those moments. I have found that by surrounding myself in my home with constant visual reminders is a great way to keep the memories alive.
I have made a YouTube video that shows and explains this. You can find the video on YouTube by saying or typing in Old Stuff Show Personal TrVe l Treasures Brought Home. I will explain this in my blog also.

one of my favourite past travel has been to the Caribbean island of St Martin. I have been there 16 times. In a town called Grand Case on the French side, I discovered the art of Paul Elliot Trudeau. I met him and felt that his art would be the perfect t way to feel the ambiance of the island. I have four of his paintings in my home ,all reminders of our great times in St Martin.

Then there is a fun reminder of a trip to Paris. We went to the large outdoor market by subway. It is huge and could take you a day to see it all. We discovered a unique piece of majolica. It is a combination of a snail and snake. So unique. You should see that in the video.

Our trip to. california found us in love with another piece of art. InLaguna Beach we saw the art showing a beautiful palm tree with coconuts. It was done as a combination of print and paint. We purchased it to be sent here then framed it in our city. It hangs as a beautiful reminder og our trip to California.

On a personal note we travelled to the Netherlands where my parents were born. I went to the town where my great grandfather started a dry goods store in 1887. My father was born above the store. It was an antique shop when I was there with the glass in the front door having my gr eat grandfather and grandfather’s name frosted in it. I purchased the glass and replaced it for the owner . I now have a tangible family artifact framed in my living room. As well, on the other trip I purchased the door bell that was inside and hung over the door.so, I have two reminders of my family history and the trips taken to get it.
when we once went to Chicago, we purchased a very unique standing lamp with a parrot hold a light fixture. It stands tall as a reminder of our trip to Chicago.

so, I can look around every part of my home and see reminders of my trips. These are the treasures that we brought home.It is so real and an easy way to keep our memories alive on these special trips.

Agsin, I recommend. That you have a look at the video. Each acquisition is covered in more detail.
